Spring season is quickly approaching. Which means sunny skies and warmer weather are right around the corner- it also makes this a great time to consider booking a Spring Family Photography Session. So, whether you’ve already booked your Spring Family session or are just wondering where to start and what to consider for a spring family photography session, Listen up! Here are some helpful tips for preparing your family for a flawless Family Photography Session this spring.
Tip 1: Location, Location, Location
Finding a great location that screams spring for your family photography session is a big deal. Chances are your family photographer already has a slew of spots that would fit your spring vibes perfectly. With the weather warming up, there will be lots of families out taking advantage of the fresh air. It’s best to have plenty of time to plan around increased crowds or other seasonal events taking place in your area. For instance, every March, Macon, GA, becomes a pink paradise for 10 days. The city host the international cherry blossom festival, which draws thousands of people. Planning your location early also gives your Family Photographer plenty of time to secure your session date at your dream location.
Tip 2: Time it right.
Spring typically runs from March 1 to June 1 we all know there’s a small window when it actually LOOKS and FEELS like spring. If you book a session too early, you may miss out on those spring buds. Book too late, and you’ve already wandered into summer territory. Consider nap times and schedule those accordingly. With daylight savings taking place mid-march, that golden hour session at 530pm is now 630pm or later and your little one may be grumpier than normal. Don’t forget to account for your Childs bed time routine. If bedtime is strictly structured around 7pm you may want to consider an early morning session instead especially if they are an early riser. Remember happy kids happy sessions!
Tip 3: Have some fun with color
One of the best parts about family photography sessions during the spring season is that it offers some beautiful backdrops. Whether a stunning sea of blooming rose bushes, gorgeous pink foliage of Cherry blossoms or a fabulous blanket of fresh wildflowers. This is an excellent time of year to take advantage of the beautiful color popping up from the ground and in the trees. So why not play into the season’s colors when choosing your family’s outfits. Fresh pops of green, blue, pink, and yellow are always a hit in the springtime, and pastels feel whimsical and fun. Just remember to stick with simple patterns for kids and don’t forget to pack an extra layer. Spring can be finicky so layers allow for each family member to either remover, or add, a layer as they see fit and remain comfortable throughout the session.
